Cruising 101

This is an intro crash course for those that want to live on the water! During this three day cruise you will be introduced to the skills you’ll want to know to live aboard, maintain, operate and navigate your future boat.

There’s nothing like experience when it comes to gaining confidence on the water and this trip gets us out there living the cruising life. It’s a fun, hands-on approach to learning seamanship. Together we will sail through our favorite protected waters here in Downeast Maine and practice skills like:

-Coastal charting and navigation

-Safe anchoring and “Gunkholing” practices

-Approaches to weather

-Sailing techniques

-Radio protocol

-Docking and fueling

-Domestic vessel systems, rigging & Engine maintenance

We love sharing what we know and brainstorming trips, boats and ideas. This Cruise is low pressure and a lot of fun!
